As an international student, you may have done the IB, A-levels, APs or your own country’s system. Some of these systems have exams after the application process which means that you will not have your grades by then. Therefore, you may use your predicted grades. For US applicants, they just have to provide their GPA – predicted grades are not necessary. (Predicted grades are used mainly for UK applications). However, if your school does have predicted grades and you get a great predicted grade, I recommend asking your university counsellor to send them off with your application. If your predicted grades are not so great, then you do not need to worry about sending them off.
As I mentioned, US applicants send their GPA, and you will need to send an equivalent. A Transcript is like a ‘report’ that shows your grades throughout your whole high school period (four years). In England, these are called ‘school reports’. These will need to be sent to the university, and also possibly a conversion-of-grades system (your school should handle that).
If your school has any sort of academic ranking, and you are highly ranked in the class, you would want that to be highlighted in your application. Ask your university counsellor or teachers if you could know your academic ranking.
